[SKIPPING] ``` ### Storing configuration files[](#storing-configuration-files "Permalink") The [backup Rake task](#back-up-gitlab) GitLab provides does **not** store your configuration files. The primary reason for this is that your database contains encrypted information for two-factor authentication, the CI/CD ‘secure variables’, and so on.
